HTC Vive Cosmos Elite External Tracking Faceplate review

I take a look at the upcoming Vive Cosmos External Tracking Faceplate, available as a stand-alone upgrade for Cosmos owners and as part of the HTC Vive Cosmos Elite package.

Back in 2016, HTC’s Vive VR kit revolutionised consumer virtual reality. Using the Lighthouse base stations, co-created with Valve, the Vive gave users pin-point precision and amazing room-scale VR experiences from day-one.

Flash-forward three years, to late 2019, and the original Vive still gave users an incredible VR experience, but an upgrade was long overdue. HTC responded by launching the Vive Cosmos. Continue reading HTC Vive Cosmos Elite External Tracking Faceplate review

DCL – The Game PC review

DCL – The Game attempts to bring the world of competitive drone racing to the masses. It’s the official videogame of the Drone Champions League.

Drone racing is an exciting sport that is taking off all over the world. Pilots don VR-style headsets to view their drone’s movements as if they were sitting on board. Final Fantasy VII Remake preview and developer interview

Square Enix continue to mine the JRPG gem that is Final Fantasy VII, with a full-on remake of the classic game.

Like Star Wars is my favourite movie, Final Fantasy VII is my favourite game, it’s not the best game that I’ve played, but it holds a very special place in my heart. It was the first game that I 100% know that I spent over 100 hours playing. It was also one of the first games that I actually finished. Overpass Xbox One review

Big Ben’s Overpass gives players to chance to try their hand at negotiating extreme terrain on UTV and ATV off-road vehicles.

Years ago, I was living in a house where one of my housemates was a huge motorsports fan. But he wasn’t interested in the clinical science of Formula 1, or even touring cars. He would watch crazy Icelandic drivers driving buggies up the vertical inclines of the island’s inhospitable volcanic landscape. Exhausting to even watch, the drivers would inevitably roll and flip their machines traversing an environment not meant to be driven across. Overpass, with its off-road action and challenging terrain, reminded me of that crazy Icelandic motorsport. Continue reading Overpass Xbox One review

The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners VR PC review

New Orleans is the setting for The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners, a VR game based on the comic book by Robert Kirkman.

Similar to Telltale’s Walking Dead games, Saints and Sinners is not a tie-in with The Walking Dead TV show. This is probably fortunate, as The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, the 2013 game based on the TV show was not very well received.

Played via Valve’s SteamVR platform, Saints and Sinners is compatible with the Value Index, HTC Vive, Oculus rift and Window Mixed Reality VR platforms. I tested the game using HTC’s original Vive and the new Vive Cosmos, both without technical issues. Continue reading The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners VR PC review
