The unit features a plastic chassis with clean, smooth lines, accented by a stylish pattern and logo on top. It’s compact enough to store neatly in your car boot, yet sturdy enough to sit securely on a workshop shelf. A 3-inch display provides clear information on charge level, input and output, along with access to a comprehensive settings menu for adjusting charging options and screen brightness.

At 11kg, it’s not especially portable, but still light enough to carry from the car to a picnic or park gathering. The dual carry handles make it easier to lift and even allow for a two-person carry of the 38 × 20 × 24.4 cm unit if needed.

On the left side, the unit includes an AC three-pin (kettle lead) input along with a secondary input for charging via a car or solar panels. You can charge it from a standard 240V wall socket using the included AC cable, or from a 12V DC car outlet with the supplied cable.

If you have Solix solar panels, the power station can also be charged using the compatible cable from the solar kit. In urgent situations, an ultra-fast charging mode can be activated via the app or on-screen menu, allowing the unit to reach a full charge in under an hour.

The unit features a time-of-use function that lets you schedule when it charges and discharges. This made it easy to set peak and off-peak periods, allowing the unit to charge during the day via solar panels and then supply power in the evening.

It also doubles as a surge protector, handling AC surges of up to 2400W. This protection activates automatically whenever the total output exceeds the unit’s rated capacity.

The free Anker mobile app lets you monitor the power station in real time, including charge level, input, and output, and set options such as the time-of-use function. Setup is quick and straightforward, with connectivity available via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. The app also allows you to install firmware updates when they become available.

On the right-hand side, there are four three-pin AC sockets, with a single on/off isolator button positioned just above them. These outputs are rated at 120V~ 15A, 120V~ 16.66A, 60Hz, with a maximum of 2,000W. While this is lower than Australia’s standard 240V supply, most modern appliances use switching transformers that adapt to either 120V or 240V input. As a result, you’re unlikely to encounter issues—though it’s best to avoid using it with older, voltage-sensitive appliances.

The unit offers four USB ports—one USB Type?A and three USB Type?C. The USB Type?A port delivers 5V at 2.4A (up to 12W) and shares its output with the adjacent USB Type?C port, which provides 15W, with a combined maximum of 20W between the two. The remaining two USB Type?C ports support outputs ranging from 5V to 28V at 3A–5A, with a maximum of 140W each. Also, on the right-hand side, is a 12V car socket, rated at 10A with a maximum output of 120W.

In addition to its role as a portable power station, the Anker Solix can also function as an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), offering a fast switchover time of 10ms in the event of a power outage. With its 1,024Wh battery capacity, Anker estimates it can power a car fridge for around a day, run a CPAP machine for up to 15 hours, or recharge a smartphone approximately 50 times.

The Anker Solix C1000 Gen 2 is a straightforward, user-friendly portable power station that performs exactly as expected. It’s well-suited as a home backup solution or a reliable power source when you’re away from mains electricity.
