Control your appliances with a D-Link mydlink Mini Wi-Fi Smart Plug
D-Link ANZ have launched new smart plug as part of their range of mydlink smart home devices. The DSP-W118 mydlink Mini Wi-Fi Smart Plug can be used to turn on and off electrical appliance via schedules that can be set up on the mydlink app.
The device can be set to turn your TV off when you’re asleep, power on your coffee maker before you wake up, or automatically turn on your living room lamp while you’re on holiday.
The free mydlink app works with iPhone, iPad and Android devices to set schedules and automate your appliances using the Smart Plug, as well as set automation rules that interact with other mydlink devices. With the integration with the Google Assistant or Alexa, you can also use the power of your voice with commands such as ‘Alexa, use mydlink to turn on the Smart Plug’ to create a voice-enabled smart home.
D-Link ANZ MD Graeme Reardon said, “The mydlink app can control all our smart home products in the mydlink ecosystem and the new mydlink Mini Wi-Fi Smart Plug is an integrated part of making that ecosystem operate in a smart and seamless fashion. Put simply, the new smart plug combined with the mydlink app makes it easier for people to enable their smart home by adding clever automation and additional security.”
Previous iterations of D-Link’s Wi-Fi smart plugs have been a little on the large size, obsuring access to neighbouring sockets. The new mydlink Mini Wi-Fi Smart Plug packs all it’s wireless technology into a tiny form factor. The compact size promises to discreetly extend your D-Link-enabled connected home.
The new D-Link DSP-W118 mydlink Mini Wi-Fi Smart Plug is available now from www.dlink.com.au (RRP AUD$39.95), www.dlink.co.nz (RRP NZ$55.99) and from all authorised D-Link partners and retailers in both countries.

Iron Man MK50 Robot by Ubtech review
To tie in with the release of Avengers: Endgame, AI and robotics company Ubtech launched the Iron Man MK50 app-controlled robot.
At 330mm in height with exaggerated, caricature-like dimensions, the Iron Man robot looks like an oversized cousin of a Funko Pop figure. It’s quite heavy and despite it’s plastic construction, comes across and pretty robust and well-built. Continue reading Iron Man MK50 Robot by Ubtech review
