Rory McIlroy PGA Tour PlayStation 4 review

After a two-year break PGA Tour is back, minus Tiger Woods and, curiously, minus the 2015 suffix. Rory McIlroy PGA Tour sees the Irish golfing number one take his place as the game’s new title athlete.

For this first new-gen PGA Tour the game rebuilt from scratch using Battlefield 4’s veteran Frostbite engine. This is great news as past installments always seemed to be behind the times when it comes to graphical realism, despite improvements to the actual game mechanics. This outing gives us some of the most realistic visuals ever seen in a golf game. Continue reading Rory McIlroy PGA Tour PlayStation 4 review

Journey PlayStation 4 review

I never got around to playing Journey when originally released on PS3 way back in 2012. It looked like one of those games that required a bit of time to savour and appreciate, something that I didn’t have in between a packed review schedule that didn’t include ThatGameCompany’s follow-up to their stunning Flower.

If you are not one to take a chance on a video game, Journey may not immediately look that appealing. The stylized graphics are not what you might expect from a game that is, in fact, an absolute delight to play. Continue reading Journey PlayStation 4 review

Product Review: D-Link DCS-935L HD Wi-Fi Camera

Wireless networking technology has come a long way and most households now have a Wi-Fi network permanently connected to the internet. Whilst they have been around for a while, wireless cameras are only just becoming a viable and very affordable home security option.

D-Link’s DCS-935L HD Wi-Fi Camera allows homeowners to remotely connect to it via the internet or the local network to check for intruders, ghostly apparitions (it’s got night vision), spy on the neighbours or make sure that the kids aren’t wreaking the place. And all in 720p, with an inbuilt mic to boot. Continue reading Product Review: D-Link DCS-935L HD Wi-Fi Camera

MotoGP 15 PS4 review

Following on from their excellent, if blandly presented, Ride released in March, Milestone are back with MotoGP 15, adding a bit of glitz and glamour to the proceedings.

For this entry, the developer really seems to have really embraced new-gen technology to give us a two-wheeled racer seemingly running full throttle at 60fps. This affords MotoGP 15 with a level of precision unlike any other console motorcycle game available. It also manages to translate the break-neck speeds experienced on the track over to your TV screen. Continue reading MotoGP 15 PS4 review
