EA Games’ Battlefield 1 is almost upon us. Taking the bold move to shift the action from the present day to the to the battles of the First World War, players get to witness for themselves “the war to end all wars”.
The recent beta event allowed players to charge into battle on horseback and on foot, with bayonets at the ready, and experience warfare using authentic recreations of the weapons of the time
Removing hi-tech ordinance from the battle levels the playing field, making Battlefield 1 the grittiest entry in the series yet. Players will need to keep their wits about them as they head to war with nothing but the most basic of kit.
To celebrate the release of Battlefield 1 next month, EA are keeping the action going in Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline. For the past few months they’ve been giving away previously released expansion packs for both games to anyone playing on Xbox One, Xbox 360, Origin for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3. But the Road to Battlefield 1 isn’t over yet.
As we approach the end of the road, EA has got something really special for anyone looking to get some Battlefield 4 action in before Battlefield 1 ships on October 21. From September 14 until September 20, every expansion pack for Battlefield 4 is now available for free. That’s right, all of ‘em. And they’ve even got themed Community Missions to go along with them. You can learn more (and find links to download the expansion packs) on the Road to Battlefield 1 page.
All five Battlefield 4 expansion packs are now available for free: China Rising, Second Assault, Naval Strike, Dragon’s Teeth and Final Stand
Battlefield 1 will be available for download and in store on October 21st for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
