Hands-on review: D-Link DSL-5300 Cobra AC 5300 Wave 2 Wi-Fi Modem Router

If I was reviewing this modem/router on looks alone it would get 11/10. The Cobra is, without a doubt the sexiest router I’ve ever seen.

With eight antennas, a funky triangular design, it’s unlike any bit of networking kit I’ve seen before. As I got it out of its (rather premium) packaging the device looked like an upturned robotic spider (similar to those replicators on Stargate: SG1). Hands-on review: Brother MFC-L2750DW

So, the conversation starts, “Do you want to review a printer?”. I respond, “OK”. A week goes by and a courier turns up. In my head I’m always thinking home/office inkjet.

Of late though, I’ve been receiving some rather interesting devices.

Sony’s 3D Creator for the Xperia XZ Premium and XZ1 brings 3D scanning to the masses

It takes a lot for me to get excited about a mobile phone, but Sony Mobile managed to do exactly that at a demonstration of their new 3D scanning technology. With the roll-out of Android 8.0 Oreo, starting with the Xperia XZ Premium and the new Xperia XZ1 in New Zealand, Sony has launched its 3D Creator software enabling, users use their phones to easily capture faces and objects in 3D. Small, but perfectly formed: the Bose Soundlink Micro Bluetooth Speaker

Whilst keen to take a look, I wasn’t entirely sure where a Bluetooth speaker would fit into my life. Don’t get me wrong, I’m quite partial to streaming Spotify to my Samsung M7 or to my Yamaha home theatre system.
